Footscray City Primary School was established in 1877 in the inner west suburb of Footscray and has experienced rapid growth in student population over recent years. We believe that learning is most powerful when it is personalised to each student and when the learner has voice in the purpose, content and application of their learning. At Footscray City we focus on the development of student capabilities in literacy and numeracy, as these are the foundations for learning in all areas of curriculum. We then draw on these skills to enable students to engage in key content areas such as Science, Humanities and The Arts. We are proud of the strong reputation we have built in the local area; that we are a primary school offering high quality programs within a warm and welcoming community. The observations of visitors and the feedback from current students, families and staff confirm that we have a culture characterised by trusting relationships and a focus on growth and opportunity for every child. The current leadership team consists of Principal Jessie Hand and Assistant Principals Anthony Curnow and Grace Speight. |
